Rezept:
Man nehme und vermische:
- grüne Highlands und Hochebenen aus Schottland
- alte Wehrtürme aus Irland und bestreusel sie mit Legenden über die berüchtigten Sarazenen
- schroffe Felsen von Moher, Irland
- Rote Felsen mit Sand aus Ägypten verziehrt
- tiefblaues Meer aus Griechenland
- türkis schimmernder Meeresboden aus der Karibik
- Blütenpracht aus Holland
- Gesichtszüge aus dem gesamten Mittelmeer
- Walisisch & Rumänisch klingende Ortsnamen
und diese 'First' Impressions sind nun auch schon wieder 2 Monate alt. Jessas, wie die Zeit vergeht. Und ich bin schon wieder hinten nach mit meinem Blog. Aber es ist ein bissl die Kombi aus anspruchvollem Segelrevier, mehr Präsenz auf social media (als aufn guten alten Blog), längere Segelstrecken und die vielen neuen Eindrücke ...
Von Cagliari, am Süd-Östlichen Eckerl Sardiniens erkundeten wir mal die Südküste bis in den Westen nach Carloforte. Wie es der Zufall wollte, war dort gerade das "Tono Rosso Festival" - das Rote
Thunfisch Festival. Dh was gabs bei mir am Teller ?
Vorspeise: Thunfischtartar
1. Gang: Thunfisch Carpaccio
Hauptgang: Marinierter Thunfisch gegrillt
Leute, ich sag euch, ein Gedicht, da sind alle bisherigen sogenannten Thunfischsteaks in den Abgrund gerückt.
PS: nein, Wolfgang ist nicht zum Fischesser konvertiert - er bleibt bei den Seekühen 🙈🐮
Die Ostküste Sardiniens war als nächstes dran. Ein weißer, mindestens 10km langer Sandstrand folgte dem Nächsten, kein Mensch weit und breit, nur vereinzelt andere Segler ... wie es jetzt zur
Hochsaison ist weiss ich nicht, aber im Juni wars der Hammer. Auch die Landschaft, ein Abschnitt schöner als der andere, und so vielseitig!!
Die Hochsaison erleben wir jetzt gerade an der Nord-Ost Ecke der Insel ... hier ist schon bissl mehr los, aber das liegt auch daran, daß die 2.größte Stadt Olbia einen Flughafen hat und es hier
mehrere Charterfirmen gibt, aber nichts vergleichbares wie in Kroatien oder Griechenland. Die Charterboote sind hier eindeutig in der Unterzahl. Es sind vermehrt Eignerschiffe hier, hauptsächlich
Italiener und Franzosen ... und dann die maltesische Flagge ... aber selten sind die Besitzer hier aus Malta ... könnt ihr euch noch erinnern, wo wir in der Adria der größte Katamaran waren ???
das war 2009-2011 ... jetzt sind wir hier in Sardinien, vorallem entlang der berühmten (und luxuriöseren Seite Sardiniens) der Costa Smeralda, in der unteren Größenordnung einzureihen. Ab 50 Fuß,
sowohl Mono als auch Kat, ist hier das Kredo. Und die mit Maltesischer Flagge fangen bei 60-70 Fuß an. Aber da sind auch wirklich sehr geile Teile dabei !!!
Wir segeln hier je nach Wetter mal in den Norden, auch schon bis nach Korsika, oder in den weniger besegelten Süden ... jetzt liegen wir in Olbia und geniessen auch mal das Stadtleben mit täglichem Eis, Pils (so gut das italienische Bier ist, aber an ein gutes herbes Pils kommen nur die italienischen IPA's ran, und die gibt es hier leider nicht sehr oft).
Die Betonung liegt auf SEGELN - weil das kann man hier wirklich gut und mit recht kontinuierlichem Wind. Das sind wir aus der Adria gar nicht gewöhnt 😂.

So all these 'first' impressions are already 2 months old, time is passing quickly. And I am again late with my blog. But it is quite a challenging sailing area and I am more present on social media with live updates.
After getting to know Cagliari in the south-east of Sardinia, we sailed along the south coast to the south-west corner and the town of Carloforte. And we were lucky to be there when the
Red-Tuna-Festival was going on. So what did I have for dinner:
starter: tuna tartar
first main course: tuna carpaccio
second main course: grilled marinated tuna
It was a real treat and I really got the feeling that all the 'tuna' I was eating in the past were other fish 🐟.
PS. no, Wolf has not converted to eating fish, he stays with the four legged 🐮.
The east coast followed. One at least 10km long white beach after the other followed. But still, they were all different, no people, and just a few boats. Maybe because it was still off season.
We are now experiencing italian high season ☀️. Her in the north-east with a big airport close by there is quite a different picture. Around Olbia it is pretty busy. Also because most charter bases are here, but with just a few boats, nothing compared to the big charter companies in croatia. It's more owner boats. Mainly italians from the mainland, French and then of course a lot of boats with the Maltese flag, but not because the owner is from there ... can you remember when our boat was the biggest catamaran in the adriatic ? This was back in 2009-2011 ... now we are amongst the smaller versions. starting with 50ft boats ... and the ones with maltese or BVI flag they start with 60-70ft. Some very impressive boats here !
From Olbia were are enjoying sailing south one week and north the other, always depending on the wind. Right now we are enjoying city live with our daily portion of gelato and a good cold hoppy Pils (as good as the italian beer is, but nothing can beat a Pils).
We are actually really enjoying our SAILING days on the water. Because this is what you can really do. Sounds crazy, but compared to the adriatic the winds are more or less in the middle range strength wise and for a whole day they are from the same direction.
