oje, ich glaube dieses Posting ist schon längst überfällig ! Sorry an die, die uns gefragt haben, ob eh alles ok ist, weil wir uns so lange nicht gemeldet haben ...

Angefangen hat unsere Blog-Abstinenz nach den 3Königen als ein anderer Live-aboard hier in der Marina meinte, sie bräuchten ein neues Sprayhood. Das ist das "Fetzndachl" über dem Abgang in den
Salon auf einem Mono (=Einrumpfyacht). Und Wolf meinte, magst ihm nicht was anbieten ...
Denn für uns waren wir ja gerade in der Planung für ein Enclosure (=Wintergarten) um das Cockpit herum, damit wir auch bei Wind und Regen draußen sitzen können.
Und so hat alles seinen Lauf genommen:
- Abmessen - Internetrecherche - Materialrecherche - Angebote schreiben - Lieferungen kontrollieren - und zum Nähen anfangen ...
Und das machen wir nun seit Ende Jänner, aber nicht für uns, das Material liegt im Lagerraum am Schiff und wartet.
Mittlerweile ist eine komplett neue Salon Sitzgarnitur entstanden mit 10 Teilen (3 folgen noch), 3 Verkleidungen für das Steuerrad, 6 Verkleidungen für Winschen (die große "Zwirnspule" mit der
man die Seile einholt), 1 Navitischverkleidung, 2 Sprayhoods (die Amis nennen sie Dodger), 1 Solarpanelmontage auf einem reparierten Bimini (das ist die Abdeckung über dem Cockpit auf einem
Mono), 2 Lukenhauberl - es folgen noch: 1 großes Bimini aus 3 Teilen mit Solarpanelhalterungen und Komplettverkleidung mit 8 (!) Seiten"vorhängen", jedes Teil mit Fenster und Vorhängen um das
Vinyl vor UV zu schützen.
Arbeiten kann ich Maria-sei-Dank im Clubhaus von der Marina, mit viel Platz, großen Tischen und vorallem einem Tischtennistisch, der genau die Breite der Stoffballen hat und rutscht. Ideal zum
Zuschneiden. Hat ja doch so ein Sprayhood mega viele Einzelteile.
Das ist der Grund warum ich derzeit Mo-Sa 8-18/19h arbeite 😎🤓 und es riesigen Spaß macht. Mein Kreuz ist zwar nicht so begeistert von den über-den-Tisch-gebeugten Zuschneidesessions, aber das
geht mit viel Schwimmen dann hoffentlich bald wieder weg ... aber der Sommer ist wieder eine andere Sache 😳.
Leider habe ich noch keine, bzw keine guten Fotos von den fertigstellten Teilen, weil das Schiff mit den meisten Näharbeiten gerade in einer anderen Werft liegt, aber sie sollten wieder nach Roccella zurück kommen. Und das 2. Sprayhood wird morgen fertig installiert - gestern und heute schüttet es, es weht ein eisiger Ostwind UND es ist mega staubig und dreckig der Regen - eine Mischung aus Etnaasche und Saharasand, die sich über einem Windwirbel über dem Ionischen Meer gerade die Hand geben. Aber hier mal ein paar Impressionen:

Ok, here comes the story: it all started after 3kings on 6th jan when another live aboard here in the Marina said, he would need a new sprayhood (🇺🇸 dodger, the canvas hat over the entrance into the salon of a monohull). So Wolf said, if I wanted to make him an offer ...
As we were right into the planning of our own canvas work. A full enclosure under our new hardtop. So that we can sit outside even in rain and wind, like a conservatory.
And that's how "my business" started:
- making templates - internet research - product research - writing offers - dealing with deliveries - and start sewing ...
And that is what we have been doing since end of January. But not our enclosure, this material is in our storage room on the boat waiting.
Meanwhile we have finished new salon cushions with 10 pieces and 3 to come, 3 wheel covers, 6 winch covers, 1 navigation table cover, 2 sprayhoods, 2 hatch covers, 1 solar panel mounting on a bimini. Still to go: 1 huge bimini with 3 parts, windows and solar panel mounting PLUS 8 side enclosure parts incl windows and curtains to prevent the vinyl from UV light.
Thank-Mary I can work in the clubhouse here in the Marina. It is huge and has a table tennis table which has the exact width of the fabric. Ideal to cut pieces and sew the large parts together.
That is the reason I have a been a bit off-blog lately. Working mo-sat 8-18/19hrs. But I love it. Not so my back, as the bent-over-the-table-working position is not the optimum. But that will all be good as soon as we can start swimming again in summer ... but that is another story 😳.
I do not have good pictures of the finished pieces yet as the boat with most parts in in an other shipyard at the moment and the other sprayhood has not been mounted due to icy cold rain, squalls and especially DIRTY rain with ashes from the volcano Etna on Sicilly and red sand from the Sahara. All that accumulated in a wirl wind in the ionian sea as is not raining down on us. But here you will see some of the first impressions of our work:

Wolfgang war natürlich nicht auch untätig und hat neben dem Job eines Nähgesellen auch noch einige Bootsprojekte fertig gekriegt. Dann ist dazwischen natürlich auch noch unser "normales" Leben.
