Somit zurück zu den wirklich wichtigen Dingen im Leben:
Wir sind am 4. März endlich wieder auf unsere Pink Penguin gekommen.
Zu sagen, "ohne Probleme" ist ein bissl übertrieben, aber jedenfalls noch vor Einsetzen der "unlösbaren Probleme" wie Abschottung.
Flug Wien - Milano: gecancelt, aber umgebucht auf einen früheren
Flug Milano - Lamezia Terme (in Calabrien): wie geplant
Die Flughäfen selber glichen Geisterstädten und somit sind wir auch niemanden nur annähernd näher gekommen. Auf dem Flug nach Mailand waren wir 7 Personen, theoretisch hätten wir alles essen und trinken können für 120 Personen 😜.
Und dann noch ein 40minütiger Autoshuttle und wir waren hier.
Vor Ankunft mußten wir noch ein email mit unseren Daten an die Polizei von Roccella schicken, weil wir aus dem NORDEN kamen, aber deswegen haben wir weder Einschränkungen, Besuche von CSI's in Schutzanzügen bekommen oder eine gelbe Linie um unser Schiff herum. Also eigentlich eh alles normal.
Einige Leute in der Marina (von den Seglern) waren ein bissl hysterisch und wir mußten 5m vor ihnen stehen bleiben, aber what shalls, die Franzosen haben uns gleich abgebusslt.
Dann kam die Meldung: ganz Italien ist "Zona Rossa" - Rote Zone, bis 3. April kein Auslaufen ... und es gibt schon Hamsterkäufe und Unruhen ...ja, im Norden wo die Nerven blank liegen, aber hier im Süden sind wir normal einkaufen gegangen mit anderen normalen Menschen, nix war ausverkauft, alles in Hülle und Fülle noch da.
Wir bekamen auch einen Car lift von Kanadieren vom Supermarkt zurück zum Schiff, ganz ohne Berührungsängste (wobei er Virologe war). Und heute steht auch, wie jeden Mittwoch das Bar-Treffen mit den anderen (nicht hysterischen) Seglern an, also Business as usual, soll zumindest die Bar einen guten Umsatz heute machen 🤗.

Therefore it's back to the really important news:
on march 4th we arrived safe and sound on Pink Penguin.
To say "without problems" is a little under rated but we came before it was impossible to come.
Flight Vienna-Milano: was cancelled but we were rebooked to an earlier flight
Flight Milano-Lamezia Terme (in the south): as planned.
All the airports seemed like ghost towns so there was not even the chance of having to face anyone. We were only 7 people Vienna-Milano. We could have eaten the food of 120 people 😇.
And then another 40m by car transfer and we were here.
Before arrival we had to contact the local police via email as we came from THE NORTH. This is now the synonym for: black plague ... that's how the south treats the north right now.
But no consequences for us: no restrictions, no CSI's in safety gear, no yellow line around our boat. So it was actually quite normal.
A few sailors in the Marina are a little bit over reacting towards us, we had to keep 5m distance from them ... oh well ... but the French kissed us hello.
Then came the news: we are all in the Red Zone, no leaving harbour until 3rd April, panic shopping, riots ... yes in the north, were tension is understandable, but we are a good 800km away from there. We did regular shopping with other normal people, supermarket still full with everything.
We even got a car ride by a canadian couple back to the boat (he is a virologist, so he knows ...).
And today our weekly bar-meeting with the other sailors will take place - as usual. Without the fearsome sailors.
So hopefully at least the bar will have a nice income today 🥳.
Zusammengefaßt: es geht uns sehr gut, wärmer könnts a bissl sein (12 Grad im Schatten im Schiff drinnen is net viel) ... aber wir sind schon voll im Boat-Projects abarbeiten Modus ... jeden Tag verschwindet ein in der "Werkzeugskoje" gelagertes Teil daß irgendwie irgendwo eingebaut werden soll. Neue werden täglich angeliefert 😊
Induktionsherd: jetzt sind wir ganz ohne Gas, gekocht wird nur mehr elektrisch.
Innenteppiche: in den Durchgängen und unter dem Wohnzimmertisch liegt jetzt ein Flauschiteppich (ganz banal von Ikea). So wirkts erstens heimeliger und in der Nacht braucht man nicht immer seine Schlapfen suchen ...
Cockpitteppich: für die, die schon mal bei uns waren, wissen ja, wie rutschig es im Cockpit sein kann wenns nass ist. Leider ist der Anti-Rutsch schon fast komplett weggeschliffen. Somit kommt ein Teppich rein, aber nicht der oben genannte von Ikea, der würde sicher keine Saison überleben. Nein, es ist ein "echter" teurer Outdoorteppich, gewobenes Vinyl, antirutsch, antisalz, antiUV, antialles. Also ein super Teppich ... hoffentlich. Der wurde in einer 3m langen Wurscht geliefert, die Schablonen hatten wir ja schon vom letzten Versuch eine Bodenbelag zu erstehen, sie mußten nur ein bissl abgeändert werden, da wir nun den Teppich in einem verlegen wollen, wo nur der Kellerabgang ausgeschnitten ist. Schau ma mal ... weil geendelt wird er auch, wird bissl eine Herausforderung, aber wenns dann so ausschaut wie ich mir das vorstelle, wirds super.
neuer Boiler: 80 statt 30 liter Warmwasser jetzt für die Warmduscher
neue Luke: weil Sprung in der Schüssel. Und jetzt auch gleich mit eingebauten Gelsen- und Sonnenrollos.
But to summarize our situation: we are very well, in the shade inside the boat it could be a little warmer, (12°C is not much) ... but the boat projects are in full swing ... every day things that were stored in our hardware-cabin to be built in are disappearing, although new ones follow every day 🤣.
Induction stove: we are now gas free. No more burnt fingers or melting things.
Inside carpet: in the corridors and under the salon table there is now a fluffy carpet (ordinary one from Ikea). It makes it more homey and at night when going to the loo you dont have to look for your shoes.
Cockpit carpet: for those that have been on our boat before know that the cockpit gets slippery when wet. As the anti-skid has worn off. That's why we are installing a carpet, but not the Ikea one from inside. It is the real expensive stuff, outdoor approved, UV-Salt-everything resistant. It's woven vinyl. We already have the stencil from out last years trial to install an anti slip, it only needed to be corrected a bit and now its to cutting it out. The bias binding will be a little challenge but if it will look the way I want it to look, it will look gorgious. It will be layed out in one peace with just the trap door to the cellar cut out.
New hot water storage: 80l instead of 30l for relaxing showers
new hatch: as another one broke 🙄. But now it includes sun and mosquito shades.
