10 Jahre hat unsere Hübsche nichts anderes gesehen bzw gespürt als 🇭🇷 kroatisches Wasser. Nichts dagegen - immer glasklar, mit Blick auf den Meeresgrund, Seegurken ... aber jetzt wurde es richtig Schlammig, gatschig, trüb ... nicht daß es dann mal heißt, die Eltern haben ihren Horizont eingekrenzt ... 🤓
Der Grund hat ganz einfach begonnen: Antifouling
Ein Schiff benötigt einen Unterwasserschutz gegen Wildwuchs von Wasserpflanzen, Schnecken, Muscheln o.ä. Je giftiger desto besser. ❌ das hat uns natürlich nicht gefallen. Es gibt so halbherzige, halb-giftig, wenig-giftig oder "naturbelassene" Varianten, da könnten wir gleich Melkfett verwenden.
Ein amerikansiches Seglerpaar hat eine neue Variante in ihrem Video erwähnt, da wurden wir hellhörig: Silikon.
Zwar teurer, aber theoretisch länger haltbar - inklusive 10 Jahre Garantie ... (beim giftigen muß man alle 2 Jahre drüber lackieren). USA kontaktiert 📞 und den Namen eines italienischen Distributors bekommen. Ok, Angebot paßt, aber wir haben in kroatien keine Marina, die das mit Airbrush appliziert bzw sind die alle mega überteuert. Somit haben wir das als Bedingung gestellt: Zusage mit Marina. Gesagt getan, MARINA HANNIBAL wurde ausgesucht, in Monfalcone (zwischen Grado und Triest).
... gesagt, getan ... 18. + 19. Februar haben wir die 🐧🐧 dann überstellt.

Hier bleibt sie jetzt mal für die ersten Renovierungen hier.
- Saildrive (Antrieb) Service
- neue Faltpropeller
- Schweißen einer gebrochenen Schweißnaht (an einer nicht ganz unwichtigen Stelle am Bug)
- neuer Mast von ASPAR RIGGING wird hier auch aufgestellt
Und weil es auch so "nahe" ist von Wien, ist es für uns angenehm zum Übersiedeln und Einzurichten.
For 10 long years our beautiful boat has not seen any other waters than 🇭🇷 croatian Waters. Nothing wrong with it, not a all ... it is like glas, you can see the bottom ... cucumbers, beer cans, lost plates, shoes ... now it is time for some mud, gluey milky mud.... so it cannot say that her parents never tried to enlarge her horizon ...🤓
The reason why we went to italy, is pretty simple: Antifouling
Every ship / boat need an under water paint to prevent groth of barnicles, algees or sea monsters ... the poisonous the paint the better ... ❌ but that was out of question for us - and already illegal in a lot of countries. There are semi-poisonous or "natural" paints available ... but they have the same effect as soap.
American bloggers talked about a new form of paint: silicon over epoxy.
More expensive, but in theory the best on the market. And they give a 10 years warranty. So we contacted their office in the US and were given the telephone number of an italian distributor. Offer was sent, but we needed a ship yard that would apply the silicon as it has to be airbrushed. And in croatia we could not even find a travellift that lifts an 8m wide catamaran. At least not in the north. So we said: deal only including a Marina. So we found MARINA HANNIBAL in Monfalcone (between Grado and Triest).
That is the reason why we transferred 🐧🐧 to Monfalcone.
And there will be some more work done:
- Saildrive Service
- new foldable props
- welding of a broken aluminium part on the transdom
- and the new Mast we ordered in croatia will be stepped up there as well
